PTE

The PTE Academic assesses the real life English skills you will need at your university and living abroad. Not only does PTE assess speaking, listening, reading and writing, but also reflects real life settings, as well as testing academic skills.

The Pearson Test of English (PTE Academic) is a computer-based test to access a non-native Australian English language proficiency based on 4 key skills; listening, writing, speaking, and reading. PTE is a well-recognised alternative to IELTS, which until recently, was the only option for students willing to study, work or settle in Australia.

The Department of Immigration & Border Protection (DIBP) approved PTE Academic as a credible standard of English language proficiency testing for foreign visa applicants in 2014. Since then, the number of students who’ve taken the test and favoured it over IELTS has been growing constantly.

A PTE test takes a total of 3 hours which comprises of:

Part 1: Speaking & Writing (77 – 93 minutes)

Part 2: Reading (32 – 40 minutes)

Part 3: Listening (45 – 57 minutes)

Your PTE score can be the difference between getting a Visa or PR approval and rejection. Obtaining a great PTE score, on the other hand, takes practice and proper guidance. So, we’ve teamed up with some of the best PTE-A educators in Melbourne to bring you highly effective PTE Test Preparatory classes.

SEC provides PTE classes that are student-centric and personalized to suit your needs. We not only teach you about the structure of the test but also share optimal strategies to boost your PTE score. You have the options to complete your course in two weeks or four weeks, or you can also enrol for unlimited classes, depending on your necessities.

Why Take a PTE Test?

1. Computer-Based Testing

All PTE tests and result calculations are done using a computerized system. They’re always accurate, aren’t biased and doesn’t contain human errors. A computer-based testing system also means that the analysis or score calculations are done quite fast too.

2.Fast Results

All PTE test results are typically out within 48 hours or 2 business days. That’s really fast compared to the IELTS which takes at least 13 days.

3.Recognized Across the Globe

PTE is widely accepted by universities across the globe and by the Australian Government as well. While IELTS may be accepted in more countries, PTE isn’t lagging behind either. Every year, more and more countries are accepting PTE for English Language proficiency tests and so are students preferring to appear in it over IELTS.

4. Convenient

PTE tests are quite convenient too. You can schedule one up to 24 hours in advance and throughout the year. However, IELTS only offers 4 test dates in a month.
